Obituary for Marjorie Lucille Bond (Shepherd)

Bond, Marjorie Lucille (nee Shepherd)
Peacefully on Monday, November 13, 2017 at the age of 101. Predeceased by her husband Wilfred.
Much loved and will be missed by her children James (Linda), Dorothy (John Michell), Judith (Ken
Albanese) and Lamden “Dianne”. Loving grandmother of Lea (Adam), Kenneth (Lori-anne), Douglas
(Lara) and Christine (Sandeep), and great-grandmother of Fern and Holly Bond. Marjorie will be fondly
remembered by step-grandchildren Hugh and James Hawley and Katie Truelove and many nieces and
nephews. Sister of the late Betty Cook ( Phil). Predeceased by brothers-in-law Eddie (Eileen) and
Merrill (Eileen) and sisters-in-law Doris Parker (Bill) and Ruth Brooke (Bob). Marj was an inspiration to
all who knew her. She was extremely humble about her accomplishments, including receiving her second
degree in her mid 80s and being awarded the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal, saying she was just doing
what she loved, like everybody else. She will be missed. We were blessed to have her for so long.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair &
McGarry, 315 McLeod Street (at O’Connor) on Saturday, November 25th at 1 p.m. Reception to follow.
Those wishing may make donations to Carleton University or the Ottawa Public Library.
