Obituary for Ruth Spilling (Stanley)
Lifelong member of Hawthorne United Church
Retired Postmaster, Elmvale Acres
After a happy and fulfilling life our Mom passed away peacefully in her sleep on November 12th 2017 at the Civic Hospital at the age of 95. Predeceased by Charlie, her devoted husband of 54 years and her four siblings, Ellen Scobie, Keith Stanley, Erik Stanley, and Jean Ramsay. Sister of Roger Stanley (Lois), loving mother and best friend of Rob and daughter-in-law Karen. She will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews and sister-in-law Wenda Stanley. We hope you can join us to help celebrate her remarkable life at Hawthorne United Church, 2244 Russell Road in Ottawa on Sunday, Nov. 19 at 11:00 am. The service will be followed by a reception in the Church Hall. Heartfelt thanks to the kind and caring staff of Windsor Park Retirement Home, Dr. Farey who took such wonderful care of her, and the amazing team of doctors and nurses at the Civic Hospital who made her last days so comfortable and pain free. Memorial donations may be made to Hawthorne United Church or The Alzheimer Society in Ruth's memory.
