Mabel Bisson Routhier (Ayala)
Routhier, Mabel, October 11, 1937 – October 18, 2017

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mabel at the age of 80. She was the wife of Edmond Routhier and the sister of Blanca (the late Hugo), the late Heberto (Tina Gordon), the late Alvaro (Consuelo), the late Enrique, the late Eduardo (Beatriz), the late Dilia and the late Mary (the late Alberto).

Mabel also leaves in mourning her step-children: Suzanne, Denis (Kelly), Claude (Sylvie), Rozanne, Nicole (Mark), Marc (Felicia), Daniel (Canan), her grandchildren: Mathew, Nicholas, Cynthia (Eric), Victor (Jenna), Jason, Chantale, Marie, Brigitte, Yan Ha, Angèle, Michel, Christopher (Huixian), Sabrina (Robert), Marc, Véronique (Andrew), Lise, Isabelle, Benjamin, Emilie, her great-grandchildren: Alexandre, Samantha, Annabelle, Avery as well as her nieces here in Canada: Dilia (her husband Gilles, her children Gabriel, Adrien),Carolina (her husband Michael, her children Nicolas, Vanessa), and her many nieces and nephews in Colombia.

Mabel led a very full life. She was a cultured woman who appreciated literature, music and art and loved gardening and cooking. Having mastered three languages, she was an excellent translator and was always appreciated at work.

Being adventurous, she travelled all over North and South America as well as Europe with her husband, Edmond.

Mabel showed her love for her family in many ways. She always found time for each one of us. She maintained a very close relationship with Colombia and knew the situation of each member of her family there.

The funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at 10:30 am at the Sainte Geneviève Church at 825 Canterbury Avenue, Ottawa. In memory of Mabel, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society – Ottawa or to Hospice Care Ottawa.
