Obituary for William Edward Hayes

"William Edward Hayes passed away peacefully at home on Saturday evening, in the arms of his adoring wife, Patricia. Left to mourn his loss are his sons, Michael (Karen) & Sean (Christine); his granddaughters Alice & Ivy, and his beloved sisters Leanne (Arthur), Shonna & Tina (Joel). He joins his brother Bruce, father Del and mother Claire in waiting for the rest of us to reunite with them.

Bill was a funny, generous, gregarious soul, with a vast repertoire of travel stories, Dad jokes, and “interesting facts” on an array of topics. A risk-taker, aid-giver, and with a sense of humour that could embarrass even the most stalwart son, he brought laughter--and groans--with him throughout his days. His creative heart was evident in his song writing which gave him great joy. He also loved his garden, and creating delicious meals for all. He will be desperately missed, and joyfully remembered.

There will be a service in Bill's memory at the Hulse Playfair & McGarry Chapel at 1200 Ogilvie rd. on Saturday, October 14th at 11:00am. There will be no visitation. Instead, a gathering of friends & family will be held at his home following the service.""
