Frances Catherine Lane (nee Dehler) passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at the age of 94 years in Ottawa at the Queensway Carleton Hospital. Frances was the beloved and devoted wife of George Lane for 68 years and the loving mother of Timothy, Steven (Julie) and Michael. She was the much loved grandmother of Jordan and Erin and the great-grandmother of Rosalie, August, and Finnley. She is survived by her siblings Mary, Margaret and Archie and predeceased by her brothers John, Ronald, Robert and David, and by her sisters Rita and Dorothy. She was a favourite aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Frances was born and raised at home in Ottawa and was the fourth of ten children. She graduated from the University of Ottawa magma cum laude majoring in languages English, French and German. She loved to bake for her family spoiling them with cookies and pies.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 26, 2017, at the Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, West Chapel, 150 Woodroffe Avenue, Ottawa. Friends & relatives will be received after the Service.
