Obituary for Robert George Glinski

Robert George Glinski
We have lost a remarkable human being.

Our beloved Robert (Dr. Bob) Glinski passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2017, at the age of seventy-two.

Robert touched so many people as a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, brother, doctor, and friend. He was a devoted husband to Joanne for over fifty years, a loving brother to Nina Glinski, Ann Charron, Helen Berolo, Zina Glinski, Margie Oomen, and Kathy Doucet-Glinski, and a loyal son to parents, Alice and George Glinski (both deceased).

Robert graduated from the University of Ottawa Medical School and practiced as a family doctor and emergency room physician in Ottawa for 40 years.

Of all his professional and personal achievements, Robert was most proud of his family especially his four children - Michael (Marie), Kristina (deceased), Sarah (Calvin) and Patrick (Meredith) - and his six grandchildren - Meghan, Emma, Ali, Georgia, Charlotte and William. His love of life, generosity, humility, and wicked sense of humour will live on through them.

Thanks to the staff of St. Patrick's home who provided great care and compassion in Robert's time of need.

Friends and family may attend a visitation at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street (at O'Connor), Ottawa, on Thursday, September 14, from 3 to 5 pm and from 7 to 9 pm. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Friday, September 15, 2017 at 1 pm. In lieu of flowers, please support your favourite charity. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Parkinson Canada Foundation would be appreciated.
