Condolence: Al was one of my earliest friends. My first ski trips were with Al to Banff and Utah in his old Volvo. Canoe trips, Blue Sea Lake, bike trips. The green shark tooth St Maurice Canoe was a familiar site on the Rideau River behind our place. Before we had cars we all had canoes. Al, Doug Grinell, Verne Perret - We would get in our canoes during spring flood and paddle up Mud Creek or paddle around the ice flows at the Dam. Al is part of my memories as a kid growing up on the Rideau in Manotick. I have a lot of good memories with Al and he will always be with me there. My thoughts are with you Linda, Mary and Ralph.

Condolence: My sincere condolences to Alan's family on the loss of such a gentle, kind and strong family man. I had the pleasure of working with Al on one of the many construction projects that he inspected during his career with the City and Al's dedication and experience was a significant factor in the project's success. I will miss working with Al and hearing about his interesting adventures. Best wishes.

Linda, Paul, Brian and Blake I wish you all the best in these tough times. In many ways you were like a second family to me growing up and I regret having been out of touch for so long.
