Obituary for Dennis Hugh O'Neill

Dennis Hugh O'Neill
Peacefully in Low, Quebec on Monday, July 10th. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 36 years, Jill Keenleyside-O’Neill. Dennis was born and raised in Winnipeg, where he started his career at the CBC, which then took him to Toronto. He loved the St. Louis Cardinals, horse-racing, hockey, his many pets, dancing, a good game of cribbage and travel, but most of all he loved being surrounded by his many family members. Dennis was the much loved father of Kathleen (David Cole), Kevin (Monique), Megan (Jim Featherston), Christine (Mark Wade), Katrina and Damien (Salin Ramos). He was the cherished grandfather of Jessica, Kirsten, Paul, Brent, Erin, Derek, Aidan, Kelsey, Hayley and Cole, and great-grandfather of Renna and Lachlan. He is survived by his sisters Julie and Carol, brothers Patrick and Michael and first wife Irene Palmer; predeceased by his brother Brian, and grand-daughter Lindsay. He will long be remembered by all of his nieces and nephews for his charismatic presence and love of family get-togethers. His family would like to express their appreciation to Rosa for the wonderful care he received at Low Village Manor House as well as her staff and volunteers, Catherine, Carole, Cindy, Christine, Liz and Linda. A Memorial Service will be held at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, 5 Chemin Pritchard, Lascelles, Q.C. on Saturday, July 15th at 3 p.m. – 5p.m. In lieu of flowers, and in his memory, donations to the Alzheimer Society or Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated.
