Obituary for Elizabeth Janet Jones (Young)

Passed away peacefully at Gross Park Lodge Renfrew, Ontario on Friday July 7th, 2017 at age 80 years. Beloved wife of the late David Jones, the mother of Christopher Jones, Grandmother of Allasia Jones, daughter of the late Orla & Janet Young. She will be missed by her family sister Susan (Wayne) Tubman, brother Douglas (Ramona) Young, cousin Shirley (Rolland) Fairfield, friends June (late Roy) McNeilly, Marlene (Mike) Robinson. A long time volunteer for the Kanata Minor Hockey Association in the early 70’s till the end of the 80’s then with the Kanata Valley Lazers until the late 90’s. Recipient of the Volunteer of the Year Award for the City of Kanata in 1992 for her years of dedication. Known in the 80’s as Betty the Tupperware lady to many. Season ticket holder for the Ottawa Senators from 1992-2013. She may not have been given much in height but she made up for it with her determination, strength, and kindness. Her smile will be missed, her legacy will live on in her friends and family. Family and Friends are invited to visit at the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry 150 Woodroffe Ave. (at Richmond Rd) on Wednesday July 12th from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. A Graveside Service will take place at Maple Grove Cemetery, Shawville, Que. On Thursday at 12 noon.
