Obituary for Suzanne Françoise Malcolmson (Chrétien)

Suzanne Françoise Malcolmson (Chrétien)
Suzanne Malcolmson (née Chrétien)

The Malcolmson and Chrétien families lost a loving and caring person when Suzanne passed away June 16th. She leaves behind her dear husband of 41 years, Brian, and her brothers Claude (Micheline) and Robert (Diane), and her sister Lucie (late Michel). Suzanne was pre-deceased by her parents Marcel Chrétien and Thérèse de Grandmont and her sisters Hélène (Jean) and Dennise (Luc).

Suzanne arrived in Ottawa, from Shawinigan, at the age of 19 years old. She worked for Rankins Hardware and the federal government before turning to health care, as an employee of the VON and other agencies. She had a gift for understanding and meeting the health care needs of seniors. She then met Brian, and both of them became bilingual before getting married. They were very happy together.

In 2006 Suzanne had lymphoma but overcame it with a successful bone marrow transplant and great courage. Unfortunately, complications arose and she developed pneumonia in 2017 that she could not overcome.

A celebration of Suzanne’s life will be on Monday, June 26th at 2:30 PM at St. Patrick’s Basilica, 220 Kent St (at Nepean). in Ottawa, with a reception to follow in the meeting room there.
