After a courageous battle with cancer, Jacobus passed away at home on Tuesday, May 16, 2017, aged 62 years. Beloved husband of Sharon Schekkerman. Loving father of Kate Schekkerman (Brian). Step-father of Kelly Hebert, Colleen Fitzpatrick (Shaun), Johnny Hunt (Sherry) and Jason Hunt (Hyesun). Cherished Opa of Anika, Benjamin, Teaghann, Brianna, Kierra and YoungJin. Will be sadly missed by his mother Sadie Schekkerman (the late Steve), his sister Peggy Young (Ted), his two nephews Matthew and Roland and his extended family in Holland. A Celebration of Jacobus’s Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Beth Donovan Hospice.
